Me, myself and I

It's just not that simple.

general: nerdy talk
It may be a long shot but still: Does anyone of you have access to whatever channel broadcasts the US-Jeopardy and/or know how to get me access? One of my friends at McGill competed in yesterday's show and will do so again tonight (i.e.: she won! :D) and I would loooove to watch her, be it tonight or later (if you know how to record it).

Thanksss! :)))

ETA: The lady himself just linked me to yesterday's youtube video! (Heee! Ariel, you rock!)

So do you still need tonight's? I don't have anything to directly record the video to the computer, but the TV is hooked to a DVD-R. I could record to DVD there, rip the disk with my laptop, and send the file via Megaupload. Not ideal, but... doable.

Oooo! That would actually be really great! But only if it's not too much of a hassle for you, really...

Well, I set it up to record. Not sure of the quality of the incoming stream (long story), but we'll see how it comes out. Downside to recording it at highest available framerate, though, is that it takes forever to rip. It's 66% of the way there, but bedtime for me. Should be done in the morning. I'll see if I can set up the transfer then. (You'll probably have to clip out the commercials yourself.) If not... I'm staying overnight at my sister's place tomorrow, so whatever I don't get done before I leave will have to wait for Sunday. But at least I'll know in time whether I need to set it all up again on Monday.

Rip came in at 1.6 gigs, in a format my video editors couldn't handle. Converted the file to MPEG and it dropped to 170MB. Uploaded that. (With commercials, a couple minutes of the show before, and a bit of a high-pitched whine.) You can find it here. See what you think. And maybe on Sunday I'll try to do better. Let me know if you want Monday, too.

Heeeee!!!! Thanks a bunnnnch! :D :D :D

Well, I'm back home. But I'm not really sure what else to try. Do you know of a good (but preferably free) DVD ripping program? Or are you happy with what I already sent?

Also, do you need me to record tomorrow night's episode, too?

P.S. You're quite welcome. :)

Well, I tried to record tonight's ep. Set it all up just as before. But the recorder seems to have crashed. Recording failed. Sorry.
